CACAO MEDITATION

&

CEREMONY

This time is yours.

A daily ritual with cacao offers the invitation to slow down, soften, listen to our hearts, and reconnect with ourselves.

Cacao is among the most ancient heart-opening medicines, dropping us out of our minds and into our bodies and hearts, and connecting us with the frequency of gratitude. Seen in this way, it is a medicine not only for ourselves, but for all beings.

Create a nourishing space that will assist you in slow downing, soften, and connecting. You might light a candle or incense, play gentle music, and bring out a journal/creative project. As you prepare your cacao, think about what you wish for yourself, for those you love, for the world, and set an intention. Intention is powerful, as it is believed that any intention you put in, positive or negative, will influence your experience.

Intentions might include:

  • Slow down and arrive fully in this moment

  • Access creativity

  • Release tension in the body, mind, or spirit

  • Open heart with gentleness and trust

  • Allow insights to arise naturally

  • Release what is ready to let go of

  • Gain clarity

  • Fully feel what is ready to be felt

Or, any other intention that feesl alive for you in the moment. Trust yourself.

If nothing comes to mind, we invite you to gently ask yourself:

How can I work with cacao? How can it most support me right now?

Sit quietly for a few minutes, and trust the answer that is given.

Heart Meditation

Cacao is the medicine for connecting with the heart—put in other words, reconnecting with the feelings of gratitude, love, abundance, joy, and connection the heart offers.

Close your eyes, place one hand on your heart, and take a slow, deep breath in. Hold your inhale for a few seconds, and take a long exhale out. Release tension from the body. Let something go. Feel your feet on the ground, your body deeply supported. On your inhale draw in feelings of calm, and on your exhale release tension. Follow a few rounds of this cycle.

Bring to mind one thing, big or small, you are deeply grateful for (this could be a person, a specific moment, your cacao, or even your breath). Awaken gratitude.

Really focus on whatever you have chosen, and allow the gratitude to grow in your heart. See this warm light fill your chest. With each exhale, let the light expand through your body and radiate around you. Anchor in the frequency of gratitude and abundance.

As you bring your conscious awareness to your heart space, ask your heart:

What messages do you have for me today?

And really listen. Open yourself to hearing the messages that may arise.

What feels true to me? Who am I becoming?

Let your heart speak.

Whether you have just 5 minutes or a longer space of time, there is no right or wrong way to prepare and connect with your heart and cacao. Any amount of time is a gift and will carry forth through the rest of your day.

Stay in connection with yourself, and trust any insights and inspiration that naturally arise.
